Violent skirmishes between police and immigrant groups in the suburbs around Paris have continued for the sixth consecutive night with scores of cars set alight and nearly three dozen people arrested overnight, officials said today.
It’s unusual for riots/uprisings to last more than three days and to be escalating, not lessening, by day six. Something out of the ordinary is happening. The disturbances are happening in poor, Muslim areas.
Reaction to this has been fracturing the government.
