The Stealing of the Election 2004 - more

I don’t usually reprint lengthy posts from other blogs, however BOPNews is doing an amazing job here cataloging all the voting “irregularities.” There sure is a lot of smoke for there to be no fire…

[Updated 11/9] Republican Election Theft Roundup.

We’re adding new links to the main post, and rolling old links below the fold. There’s a lot of info out there, and we’ll try to keep this thread as current as possible for you. Apologies for any redundancies–we’re just throwing it up raw and ugly so we can get the information to you as fast as possible.
1. Before the
URLs get scrubbed, could someone archive them?
2. Would be lovely if a kind soul could throw them up in a wiki in a more orderly fashion.

Judge slaps downs Bush, Gitmo trials

    Guantanamo trial is ruled unlawful

Judge says that detainee was denied due process, and that Pentagon tribunals are invalid.

    “Invalid”, of course, means “illegal.”

To correct the system, Robertson said, the government must recognize the detainees as prisoners of war under the Geneva Convention until it has a legally valid way to declare they are not.

“Today’s decision sends a clear message that the fight against terrorism does not give the government license to disregard domestic and international law,” said Anthony D. Romero, executive director of the American Civil Liberties Union.

From the Land of the Mad, pt. 1

Rumsfeld claims defeating insurgents will persuade Iraqis to back interim leadership.

“Success in Fallouja will deal a blow to the terrorists in the country, and should move Iraq further away from a future of violence to one of freedom and opportunity for the Iraqi people,” Rumsfeld said during a Pentagon briefing.

Says he while the US is engaged in a full scale assault on Fallouja in violation of the Geneva Convention. Hey, if Canada invaded the street I live on, blowing up homes and slaughtering innocents, why you betcha, I’d certainly praise them, uh huh.

    Global warming is accelerating

The Arctic is experiencing some of the most rapid and severe warming on the planet, according to a new, eight-nation report — the most comprehensive assessment of Earth’s fragile northern cap to date.

The report, a four-year effort involving hundreds of scientists, describes vast areas of melting ice, declining species and fading indigenous cultures.

“It’s affecting people up there now,” said Robert Corell, the American oceanographer who led the project. “And there are very serious consequences for people on the rest of the planet

Yet the US, under the lunatic Bush, is the only industrialized nation that refuses to believe global warming is happening.
