Points to ponder from Arnold

Points to ponder from Arnold

I hate pants.<on women> This is something I have inherited from my father,” the actor told Playboy magazine in 1988. “He despised pants, and my mother was never allowed to wear them at home. We’re talking about a different time period now, when the man was much more the ruler of the house. But I still feel that way, and neither my mother nor Maria is allowed to go out with me in pants

What a loony bird…

Sign the Petition to Stop…

Sign the Petition to Stop Ashcroft

From Howard Dean’s blog. Wow, a major Presidential candidate taking dead aim at Ashcroft’s grotesque policies.

In other words, we now have a Democrat who is talking and acting like a Democrat.

“Today, John Ashcroft begins a national tour promoting an extension of the USA Patriot Act. Sign the petition to stop Ashcroft’s erosion of our civil rights. Add your name to the Stop Ashcroft petition, and pass it on to your friends, family, and co-workers. We will deliver your names and your comments to the Attorney General.

The petition reads as follows:

To John Ashcroft

Stop compromising our freedoms. Stop eroding our basic civil rights. Stop trying to teach our neighbors to spy on each other, and American communities to mistrust each other.

I will not stand for your using fear to threaten what it means to be an American.

The rule of law and due process are at the heart of the American tradition. There is no contradiction between protecting the country from terrorism and ensuring the protection of our basic civil liberties every step of the way.”

[1]Thieves in high places: They’ve…

Thieves in high places: They’ve stolen our country and it’s time to take it back

My favorite Texas populist rabble-rouser, Jim Hightower, has a new book out!

His website has excerpts from the book, and also says:

“Here we are, living in the wealthiest country in history, a country of boundless possibilities, a country made up of a people deeply committed to democratic ideals, a country with the potential for spectacular human achievement – but we find ourselves ruled (politically, economically, culturally, and ethically) by a confederacy of kleptocrats.

They have collected up our democratic powers piece by piece, hoarding them in the privacy of their own fiefdoms. These elites (fully abetted by the governmental elites they have bought), now effectively control the decisions that affect We the People – everything from public spending priorities to environmental degradation, wages to war, what’s on the “news” to who gets elected.”

Out of control

“The U.S. military admitted Monday that U.S. troops accidentally killed a television journalist after soldiers mistook his video camera for a rocket-propelled grenade launcher.”

Goodbye to Tony?

Goodbye to Tony?

“Prime Minister Tony Blair’s chief of staff warned that the British intelligence dossier used to justify war against Iraq failed to provide evidence that President Saddam Hussein posed a military threat, a government inquiry was told today.”

[1]The other recall candidates

The other recall candidates

Miss Monica is having a good ole time profiling various California recall candidates that you’ve never heard of. Check it out!

My favorite is Scott Mednick, whose Gubernatorial campaign website focuses entirely on Butt Monkey beer, which may or may not be an actual brand.
