A PoliZeros prediction about Arnold

A PoliZeros prediction about Arnold

We will soon know far more about Arnold Schwarzenegger’s sex life than we ever wanted to know…

Oh, and then there’s “Arnold’s Nazi Problem

“Why won’t he repudiate Kurt Waldheim?

If Schwarzenegger doesn’t renounce Waldheim in a highly public way, he can forget about ever becoming governor of California.”

And L.A. Observed reports

“On Warren Olney’s national show on KCRW, Daniel Weintraub and longtime Republican consultant Arnold Steinberg are saying that if Schwarzenegger truly did not tell his staff or Dick Riordan that he was running, it’s a bad sign. Steinberg says it may indicate that Schwarzenegger will be an out of control candidate and not trusting of those around around him.

Issa drops out of recall…

Issa drops out of recall race! Garamendi is in, Gray Davis is toast

Via Rough & Tumble, a superb California political news site

“Gov. Gray Davis’ firewall collapsed Thursday as two prominent Democrats joined the race to replace him in the Oct. 7 recall election, and U.S. Rep. Darrell Issa, the Republican who helped make the recall a reality, dropped out one day after actor Arnold Schwarzenegger made himself the leading Republican candidate”

And check this out -

Willie Brown — “Democrats will have a very difficult time defeating Arnold Schwarzenegger”.. “we are in trouble on the Democratic side with Gray Davis”.. “we will however continue to try to defeat the recall..”– CNN — 8/7/03 <Willie Brown is Mayor of San Francisco, a hardcore Democrat, and a deeply savvy politician>

News is breaking so fast that, for the first time ever, Rough & Tumble isn’t always providing cites for news items, but instead is just listing the news as it happens.

Another excellent source for recall news is The Mercury News, with their special Recall News page.

Nice head fake, Arnold!

Nice head fake, Arnold!

Damn, Arnold fooled me, maybe fooled you, he certainly fooled many people. Most thought he wasn’t going to run for Governor. Now it’s clear that his apparent decision not to run was quite probably a ploy to keep Democrats off guard and lulled into false security.

The final deadline to file for Governor is Sat at 5 pm. This means the Democrats have three days to decide whether to run a major candidate in the election. Arnold kept them guessing and now it’s crunch time.

And “sources say”, Lt. Gov Cruz Bustamente, a Democrat, is considering a run too.

Update: Cruz Bustamente is indeed running, and fellow Democrat Insurance Commissioner John Garamendi is seriously considering a run. As predicted, the Democrats have broken rank and are sacrificing Gray Davis.

Grab the popcorn, folks!

From The Guardian

“Convicted felons responsible for thousands of deaths are calling the shots at the White House “

Why don’t mainstream US newspaper print stories like this?
