Howard Dean may opt out of public matching funds
The Dean campaign has raised and spent so much money that it may choose to not take public financing of the campaign – which would limit to amount that could be spent.
This is significant, as it demonstrates Dean is confident he can raise enormous amounts of money, and therefore must have serious big money people lining up behind him.
That would be ruling class people who wish to see Dubya be the second Bush who was a one-term president.
