Ocean Power Technologies “wave generation system uses a ’smart,’ ocean-going buoy to capture and convert wave energy into low-cost, clean electricity.”
A 10 MW power station would occupy 30 acres of ocean space, and is scalable to 100 MW.

Well, at least this one is on the surface. Research reveals that the energy derived from wave action drops off exponentially as the depth increases (about what I expected), and the problems with designing the save generators so they can withstand both storms and salt water are significant.
