Paparian for Congress hq open

Bill Paparian is running for the House in Pasadena as a Green. His campaign is mobilizing fast, is genuinely progressive, and strongly anti-war. He’s getting endorsements and notice from the large Armenian population in the area, and lots of good press as well.

His campaign office is now open.

Paparian Campaign Headquarters.
457 W. Colorado St,. Suite 202,
Glendale, CA 91204.
(818) 242-VOTE

(Full disclosure. I’m his webmaster and receive a modest amount of money for doing so.)

All Saints Church may defy IRS

An affluent, liberal Pasadena church, All Saints Episcopal, is being targeted by the IRS because of an antiwar sermon made by a retired minister. The church is consulting with congregants and lawyers and says they are inclined to refuse the IRS request to produce documents.

All Saints has complete information online, including the text of the sermon and the IRS demands. Keep trying, their servers are melting down under the load

More on this from our previous post.

Too rich too thin — well, too thin is possible

Last month South American model Luisel Ramos, 22, died of heart failure after 12 weeks of eating nothing but green leaves.

In a somewhat related vein, a mother writes an Op-ed in the LA Times about the deliberate, calculated sexualization of pre-teen girls by corporate America.

We should worry a whole lot more about good old-fashioned American capitalism, which is busy serving our children up to pedophiles on a corporate platter.
