Yet the Bushies continue to protect him The US has extradition treaties with Venezuela. Posada is charged with serious crimes there. Yet for weeks the US pretended they didn’t know where he was. Now they obviously want to send him to a country with no extradition treaty with Venezuela - if they can. Public outcry is what forced Posada to surface and is what forced the US to at least pretend to honor their own laws. So, let’s keep the pressure on.
Newly publicized U.S. government documents provide further clues about Cuban exile Luis Posada Carriles’ possible involvement in the 1976 bombing of a passenger jet, and say an informant had told the CIA about a plot to bring down a Cuban plane.
One U.S. State Department intelligence brief issued after the attack and made public Wednesday says an informant claimed that Posada said weeks before the bombing: “We are going to hit a Cuban airliner.”

Immigration authorities have charged Cuban exile militant Luis Posada Carriles with entering the United States illegally and have ordered that he be held without bond.
He should immediately be extradited to Venezuela.
