Three Stikes is the grotesque California law that mandates very long prison sentences for second and third felony offenses – including non violent felonies. Thus, the tragic result is that hundreds of California inmates are doing 20, 30, 40 years for non-violent crimes. This is vindictive, nasty madness. Did I mention most of inmates serving three strikes are people of color or did you already figure that out?
