Jurassic Pot Plants Available Soon

Not that kind of pot… Via: BBC News

The Wollemi Pine, a plant from Jurassic times which survived in a single isolated Australian grove, is set for an amazing comeback.

In 2005, small plants cultivated from the tree once thought to have gone extinct will go on sale to the public.

The discovery of the pine in 1994 caused a scientific sensation, and prompted the Australian Government to protect the site where it was growing.

Demo today in Hollywood!

Demo today in Hollywood!

I’ll be at the demonstration site bright and early this morning (well ok, actually 9:45) to help organize for the End the Occupation march & rally in Hollywood. It’ll be an eight hour day, ending about 6 pm  after we finish tearing down the stage.

There may be counter-demonstrations by those upset by our use of the “P” word. That word being, of course, “Palestinians”. God forbid anyone should suggest they have a right to exist too…

I’ll be posting photos as they happen from my cell phone camera to my newly revamped camblog site at http://polizeros.textamerica.com. Check it out!

Justice probing White House leak…

Justice probing White House leak of CIA officer’s identity

The U.S. Justice Department is investigating charges that administration officials leaked the identity of an undercover intelligence officer to a journalist in July, The Washington Post reported Sunday.

Administration officials said CIA Director George Tenet sent a memo to the Justice Department raising questions about the alleged leak, which could mean prison time and a fine, the Post reported.

Golly, I’m sure Ashcroft will follow the facts wherever they go, aren’t you?? However Justice was asked by the CIA to investigate, and this is getting major press, so Maximum John. Do you suppose if Ashcroft is forced to indict one of his pals he will demand the maximum penalty like he’s ordered his prosecutors to do on all cases?

When the UN leaves, Baghdad…

When the UN leaves, Baghdad get bombed

From Baghdad Burning, a blog written by a young Iraqi woman in Baghdad

What is particularly disturbing is that the UN is pulling out some of its staff for security reasons… they pulled out a third tonight and others will be leaving in the next few days. Things are getting more and more frightening. My heart sinks every time the UN pulls out because that was how we used to gauge the political situation in the past: the UN is pulling out- we’re getting bombed.
