No kidding..

No kidding..

A senior Palestinian security official condemned Israel’s decision in principle on Thursday to exile Yasser Arafat, saying such a move would destabilise the Middle East.

“Harming Arafat or expelling him will destabilise the region and will only bring disaster to the Israeli people,” the official said.

“Occupation is terrorism and the Israelis have to realise that if they implement this stupid decision then they are committing a crime against their own people and against stability in the region.”

I can not think of a more certain way to guarantee a conflagration in the Middle East than for Israel to expel Arafat.

Americans think Bush riles terrorists

Most Americans think the U.S. administration’s aggressive military pursuit of the war on terrorism has made further terrorist attacks more rather than less likely, according to polls released this week before Thursday’s second anniversary of the Sept. 11, 2001 attacks.

Americans aren’t nearly as dumb as some would have you believe. A little slow to react sometimes, however it’s clear that opposition to Bush and his adventurist invasions has reached the mainstream of America. Just like happened in the Vietnam War days. Only this time it took a few months, not several years.

The re-selection of Bush in 2004 is no longer inevitable, or even probable. The anti-Bush groundswell grows daily ever larger.

Howard Dean news

Howard Dean news

From Dean’s blog, certainly not an unbiased source, however this is worth noting:

House GOP leaders’ action marks new low

Howard Dean today condemned House Republican leaders for scheduling a crucial vote on, and then approving, the first federally-imposed school voucher program for the District of Columbia last night:

“Scheduling a vote on school vouchers to take place at the exact hour of the Democratic Presidential debate sponsored by the Congressional Black Caucus marks a new low for the Republican Party.”

In other news: Dean says US should not take sides in Middle East. This is especially interesting, as Dean has been assumed to be a hardline Israel supporter.

Criticism of Howard Dean for his assertion that the United States should not take sides in the Middle East conflict moved beyond presidential debating today when a group of Democratic House members rebuked him in a letter.

Here’s a shocker, our goverment…

Here’s a shocker, our goverment lied to us

Study finds WTC fires spewed toxic gases for weeks

The burning ruins of the World Trade Center spewed toxic gases “like a chemical factory” for at least six weeks after the Sept. 11, 2001, attacks despite government assurances the air was safe, according to a study released on Wednesday.

The gases of toxic metals, acids and organics could penetrate deeply into the lungs of workers at Ground Zero, said the study by scientists at the University of California at Davis and released at a meeting of the American Chemical Society in New York.

Does the Bush Administration EVER tell the truth? And how many will die early deaths due to breathing the contaminated air?

Switching on PC is too…

Switching on PC is too technical for many users

The results of a study released this week confirms what the world’s sysadmins have known for ages: that users are a dangerous menace who should not be allowed near anything more advanced than a fridge.

Amen to that, brother! I’ve decided, after much ponderation, that the mainframe people have been right all along. The user is the enemy and the data and computers must be protected from the user at all costs.

A staggering one in seven technologically challenged employees needs help even switching their computers on and off, according to research commissioned by City & Guilds.

These, no doubt, are the same folks who can’t find the any key, and who use those handy slide-out coffee cup holders on the front of PCs.

Microsoft warns of yet another…

Microsoft warns of yet another critical hole in Windows

Microsoft on Wednesday warned computer users about a new critical security hole in its Windows operating system that could allow an attacker to gain control over a computer, delete data and install unwanted programs.

This happens again and again and again. If Fords were built as shabbily and unsafely as Windows, they’d have been banned from the road years ago.
