Bush knew Iraq info was false

“Senior administration officials tell CBS News the President’s mistaken claim that Iraq tried to buy uranium from Africa was included in his State of the Union address — despite objections from the CIA. <Hmm, I wonder who is leaking this to the press, and why? Interesting!>

Here’s the pathetic rationalization from the White House;

“The White House officials responded that a paper issued by the British government contained the unequivocal assertion: ‘Iraq has … sought significant quantities of uranium from Africa.’ As long as the statement was attributed to British Intelligence, the White House officials argued, it would be factually accurate. <Uh no. If you know something is a lie, it matters not if someone else says it’s true> The CIA officials dropped their objections and that’s how it was delivered. ”

Meanwhile Bush remains ever willing to sacrifice the lives of others. “US President George W Bush has admitted there is still a security problem in Iraq which means his troops have to “remain tough”. How manly of him.

DailyKos points out this story is now getting huge major media play, and that the only network NOT headlining it is – you got it – Fox News. They may well be worried, and for good reason. As Dubya spirals down, so will they. Notice I said ‘as”, not “if”.

The ANSWER coalition, who I volunteeer with, has been screaming for months that Bush is lying. As have many others. Now finally, yes finally, major media is running the story. And it’s looking like this story has legs.

This is reminiscent of Watergate. For months the media ignored Watergate while we activists screamed about it. However, when the media  finally did run the story, it ignited like a forest fire during a drought.

Pass me the gasoline.
