ANSWER L.A.

ANSWER L.A.

The ANSWER L.A. website continues to grow. I’ve added downloads, an online store with t-shirts and books, a photo gallery, and even some poetry. Check it out! And I suggest you stock up on No War in Iraq t-shirts, as we are selling them for $5 each. Get an adhesive name tag. Write “Iran, Syria, N. Korea” on it. Paste the name tag on top of the word Iraq on the t-shirt. Now you’re ready for the next several wars!

We here at ANSWER L.A. are about to go into hyperspace with 3 events in 7 days. It’s going to get a little crazy!

  • Today, Saturday, is the massive Sol Festival in MacArthur Park. ANSWER and the L.A. Greens are among the co-sponsors of this free Human Rights Festival with five simultaneous stages. It’s expected 100,000 will come.
  • Sunday is the Christopher Street West parade in West Hollywood where ANSWER will have a float. Actually, it’s a 24 ft flat bed truck with many banners and posters, including some rather stunning artwork on the banners. I’ll have photos.
  • Friday is the Bush Protest, called by ANSWER, at the Century Plaza Hotel in Century City at 6 pm. Bush will be there for a fundraiser, and we shall give him a real L.A. welcome…

People from Orange County are carpooling to the Bush protest. We’re getting lots of calls about it. It’s looking like it will be big, noisy, and militant.

Google Ad Sense

Google Ad Sense

Google has just introduced Ad Sense, a type of banner advertising. They say the ads will be relevant for that website. The website gets paid when someone clicks-through on an ad. This is similar to the pay-per-click (PPC) ads you see on the right hand side of a Google search.

The Google ad appears in the right hand column. The ads seem semi-relevant. However, Ad Sense is still brand new, so I’ll give it a month or so and see how it goes.

The Screwing of Cynthia McKinney

The Screwing of Cynthia McKinney

From investigative reporter Greg Palast

“Have you heard about Cynthia McKinney, former U.S. Congresswoman?

According to those quoted on National Public Radio, McKinney’s “a loose cannon” (media expert) who “the people of Atlanta are embarrassed and disgusted” (politician) by, and she is also “loony” and “dangerous” (senator from her own party).

Yow! And why is McKinney dangerous/loony/disgusting? According to NPR, “McKinney implied that the [Bush] Administration knew in advance about September 11 and deliberately held back the information.”

That’s loony, all right. As an editor of the highly respected Atlanta Journal Constitution told NPR, McKinney’s “practically accused the President of murder!”

Problem is, McKinney never said it.

That’s right. The “quote” from McKinney is a complete fabrication. A whopper, a fabulous fib, a fake, a flim-flam. Just freakin’ made up.”

More.

Do tell

Do tell

From a Philadelphia newspaper

Increasingly, there’s a furor over comparing Bush to the Führer.
