Britain set to give gay couples full rights
Britain is set to accept same sex couples, who will be able to register their partnerships and enjoy the same legal rights as married men and women.
Prime Minister Tony Blair’s government is backing the change, and opposition parties – including the Conservatives, who for many years opposed any extension of gay rights – support the idea.
