Incoherence from Trump on North Korea

Apparently North Korea went, in ten days,  from being totes okay for Trump to being bigly bad and evil. How astonishing. Inquiring minds want to know how the reversal happened so quickly. Trump of course never explains anything and often makes incoherent, contradictory policy shifts. So, maybe Trump is so rattled about the coming Michael Cohen and Roger Stone arrests that he forgot he said Kim Jong-un was a pal and is now ranting about NK again. Or maybe KJU said no to Trump Tower Pyongyang?

Trump is detached from reality or and thinks it’s all just a TV show and he can bluster about without fear of being called on his lies. He said the agreement means NK immediately starts denuclearization. It does not. And Mattis said is he “not aware” of any steps being taken to do this.

Touting the document he and Kim Jong Un signed at their summit, Trump declared, “If people actually read it to the public, you’d see: number one statement, we will immediately begin total denuclearization of North Korea.”

The document includes no such commitment. It observes “mutual confidence building can promote the denuclearization of the Korean peninsula.”

US President Donald Trump has renewed sanctions on North Korea, citing an “extraordinary threat” from its nuclear weapons – just 10 days after saying there was no risk from Pyongyang.

“There is no longer a Nuclear Threat from North Korea,” he tweeted on 13 June, a day after meeting the country’s leader Kim Jong-un in Singapore.
