The newly redesigned EN-V electric vehicle concept car can operate in autonomous mode, parks itself, and gets 25 miles on a charge, which makes it useful for short-distance commuting. It will be demonstrated in Tianjin Eco-City, a joint development between China, Singapore, and private sector money.
The most significant feature of the vehicles is autonomous operation. The EN-V can detect and avoid obstacles – including other vehicles – park themselves and come to you when called by phone… [this is] accomplished through a combination of GPS, vehicle-based sensors, and vehicle-to-vehicle communication.
