The nodules on Cholla break off easily and happily embed themselves in you or whatever is passing by. This Cholla, with its particularly nasty needles, was by a sidewalk. Sue and I inadvertently got stabbed several times just taking these photos. However this very Chollo also has several bird nests in it.
Ain’t nothing but a bird will get into this nest!
