A test geothermal project in Bend OR was done with constant monitoring of seismic activity and with getting the community involved and keeping them informed. Seismic activity was virtually undetectable. Geothermal power is about the only source of renewable energy that produces uninterrupted power 24/7. The US has huge untapped geothermal resources. I’m still not convinced it’s safe and won’t sometimes cause earthquakes. Switzerland stopped a geothermal project for precisely that reason.
