California Proposition 35 – Human Trafficking Penalties

Human trafficking is the forcing of a person into prostitution or working them their will. California Proposition 35 increases human trafficking penalties by expanding its definition and increasing the severity of sentences and fines. For example, a defendant can no longer claim they did not know the person was a minor.

You might think this would have little opposition yet the respected Sacramento Bee and the California Council of Churches oppose Prop 35, says it is well-meaning but would do more harm than good.

Read why on IVN, in my series of articles on the California propositions.
