The individual mandate. Will the Supreme Court rule against it?

Just in the past few days there’s been a burst of news about how the Supreme Court may well rule that most or all of the individual mandate section of Obamacare is unconstitutional. The ruling should come sometime this week. Sadly, too much of the analysis of this focuses how how the ruling could affect the presidential race. It is of course pathetic that the US has such a broken health care system.

My wife Sue will have cornea transplant surgery on Tuesday. We are fortunate enough to have good insurance. But what about those here in the US who need such operations but can’t afford them? I guess they just go blind. Contrast this to most European countries where such an operation would be paid for by the state (and financed with taxes, of course.) Our current healthcare system is deranged.
