Obama says the 50% increase in national debt during his first Administration is due to Bush’s wars and Medicare expenses. But Obama hasn’t cut back on military spending and has done little to decrease medical expenses. Further, the debt has risen more in dollars so far in Obama’s first term than it did in eight years of Bush.
I don’t care who started it. This kind of insane national debt can’t continue endlessly. Yet most everyone in DC, with the exception of a few cranks like Ron Paul, don’t care about the deficit. It’s someone else’s problem to deal with down the road later on. But certainly not theirs.
The sense of unreality emanating from DC is astonishing. They actually think they’re rational, don’t they? But $15 trillion in debt proves them otherwise, especially since they barely deign to talk about it.
