The mayor and police chief of Columbus NM were among those arrested for participating in smuggling hundreds of guns into Mexico. The mayor has pled guilty and faces 65 years in prison.
The town has abolished its police force because the indictments triggered a financial crisis.
And some still say drug cartel corruption hasn’t crossed the border. The only real question is, did they become allied with the drug cartels before or after taking office?
