    Very important as it saves so much on fuel — in SA: chopped wood and kerosene is so often used — and can reduces stove usage by up to 75% for all foods cooked in water. Much more energy efficient than using an oven or a slow cooker.

    As for coffee I drink expresso in short sharp bursts poured direct from the pot. When you add milk — cafe con leche — you start playing with thermal wild cards.
