Utah Republican Senate President Michael Waddoups has backed Utah’s decision to refuse federal unemployment assistance money, saying all those danged lazy unemployed people need be more “self-sufficient,” a decision the The Salt Lake City Tribune calls “cruel and stupid.” (The Central Utah Project is a federal water project and is a fine example of welfare for the rich.)
