The Meth Project. Paint the State Project

From The Meth Project newsletter.

We are pleased to announce that Paint the State 2010 has drawn a tremendous response from young people in both Idaho and Montana. First introduced in Montana in 2006, Paint the State is a public art contest that encourages young people to create highly visible, public works of anti-Meth art. This year, the Idaho Meth Project and Montana Meth Project contests inspired hundreds of submissions, ranging from demolished cars to billboards.

The Meth Project uses modern ad techniques to produce extremely hard-hitting ads aimed at stopping teenagers from doing that first hit of meth. Meth usage and related crime has dropped in areas where their ads appear. As one who many years ago managed to escape that dark, nasty world, I applaud what The Meth Project is doing.
