Since our recent move from southern California to southern Utah, I’ve spoken with quite a few people who think California is still the promised land and there are lots of jobs there.
Not so. Unemployment is 12% or so statewide (Imperial County has a whopping 32% unemployed), several municipalities including L.A. are near bankruptcy, and so is the state itself. And there are no answers in sight.
Fly-over states like Utah are in much better shape. They didn’t go insane with greed or overspend like drunken lunatics. Seriously.
