Junk food addiction

Recent tests show that rats given high fatty diets not only consumed twice as much calories as other rats, they also develop a higher tolerance to it, making it harder for them to get pleasure from it. In other words, they were clinically addicted.

The reward-response effects seen in the fatty-food-eating mice were “very similar to what we see with animals that use cocaine and heroin,”

I’m guessing food manufacturers know this. Thus, selling such ‘food’ makes drug dealers. And scumbags too.
