How would you like to live in a gold encrusted city-state where grown men traipse around in dresses while muttering incoherently to an invisible father figure and blame all wrongdoing on a mythological beast that lives in the center of the earth? I mean, that doesn’t sound weird at all, does it?
The chief exorcist for the Vatican says the Devil is corrupting the Church at the highest levels, that those possessed “vomit shards of glass and pieces of iron,” and that he enjoys the full support of the Pope. He claims to have performed 70,000 exorcisms in his 25 years at his post. That’s nearly 8 exorcisms a day, which is clearly not possible. Maybe Old Scratch has befuddled his ability to count accurately?
He added that the sex abuse scandals which have engulfed the Church in the US, Ireland, Germany and other countries, were proof that the Anti-Christ was waging a war against the Holy See.

The implosion of the Catholic church over homosexuality is coming. Everywhere. Until the Vatican hierarchs recognize this reality, and try to see it through the lens of the Gospels instead of their own fear and self-loathing, they are taking the church over a cliff.
The church will survive its current hierarchy, of course. It has survived worse. But something is rotten in the heart of Rome and the heart of Christianism, which has supplanted Christianity in so many places. And more and more people are recognizing it.
