Pilot deliberately crashes plane into CIA, IRS, FBI building
His manifesto, posted today and which assumes his death, is available at Business Insider who posted it saying it is “insane.” (The original site has been taken offline.)
A few excerpts:
I know I’m hardly the first one to decide I have had all I can stand. It has always been a myth that people have stopped dying for their freedom in this country, and it isn’t limited to the blacks, and poor immigrants. I know there have been countless before me and there are sure to be as many after. But I also know that by not adding my body to the count, I insure nothing will change. I choose to not keep looking over my shoulder at “big brother” while he strips my carcass, I choose not to ignore what is going on all around me, I choose not to pretend that business as usual won’t continue; I have just had enough.
I can only hope that the numbers quickly get too big to be white washed and ignored that the American zombies wake up and revolt; it will take nothing less. I would only hope that by striking a nerve that stimulates the inevitable double standard, knee-jerk government reaction that results in more stupid draconian restrictions people wake up and begin to see the pompous political thugs and their mindless minions for what they are. Sadly, though I spent my entire life trying to believe it wasn’t so, but violence not only is the answer, it is the only answer.
I saw it written once that the definition of insanity is repeating the same process over and over and expecting the outcome to suddenly be different. I am finally ready to stop this insanity. Well, Mr. Big Brother IRS man, let’s try something different; take my pound of flesh and sleep well.

It’s neither left or right, is it, but more of a rant against intrusive and abusive governments and well as against banksters and the other fat cats who are plundering the country.

Here’s what’s insane: LOTS of people are defending Joseph Andrew Stack
We didn’t think we were being remotely controversial earlier when we characterized Joseph Andrew Stack’s manifesto as insane.
Well, LOTS of people disagree, and if you look in the comments of that post — or in our inbox — you’ll find plenty of Stack fans out there.
Anger at the IRS and the bailouts holds tremendous resonance, clearly, and even a suicide plane bomber isn’t seen as “insane” by plenty of folks.
Such is the climate of American politics right now.
The FBI pulled down his manifesto. And… Holy crap! The crazy comments at that site?
Apparently the web host pulled it down because his servers were melting down. FBI said they didn’t ask him to.
Yes, things are getting a wee bit crazy.
Carazy…. He now has a Facebook fan page. “Don’t tread on me!” motto and all.

I think that this is likely just another in a long line of “lone gunman” anger at (pick one) government, IRS, boss, coworkers, spouse, ex-spouse, parents, siblings, classmates, neighbor, or “the others.”
The phrase “and so it begins” implies a revolution of sorts. We have too many comforts and individual powers to revolt, and anyway, no leader or cause around which to wrap a war.
If Texas (or another state or group of states) threatens to secede over economic and/or cultural issues, then maybe we’ll have groups going to war against the Federal Government — though it takes a long time for many Americans to work themselves up to that stage.
A man who flies an airplane into a building for the purpose of making a statement is insane. His manifesto appears better written than some, but his “sacrifice” is likely to do his cause more harm than good. There are more effective and nonviolent ways to make a statement.
Nevertheless, to date, 24 states (including California) have passed laws saying they will defy federal law in some regard, whether permitting medical marijuana, refusing to enforce federal gun laws for in-state use, or refusing to go along with the REAL ID Act. The (democratic) Governor of Wyoming has called for a Constitutional amendment to affirm states rights.
Oh, and while I oppose violence as a tool, it is one of only two legal ways for a state to secede from the Union. Texas v. White says secession can only be accomplished “through revolution, or through consent of the States.”
It’s not unlike what the Weathermen thought, that their bombings would spur people to rise up because repression would get worse. Didn’t work. They had no mass following behind them.
I meant it more like, here’s comes more “lone gunmen”, maybe a whole bunch of them.
