I’ve always been different with one foot over the line
Winding up somewhere one step ahead or behind
It ain’t been so easy but I guess I shouldn’t complain
I’ve always been crazy but it’s kept me from going insane
I lived in Austin in ’75 towards the end of “the ropers and the dopers” and listened to Waylon and Willie on local radio station KOKE (honest, that was their call letters.) Thought he was amazing back then but lately have come to appreciate that he was one of the giants.
