Abortion MD killed. Soldier murdered. Fanatics to blame

Scott Roeder hated abortion doctors and now Abdulhakim Mujahid Muhammad, an African-American convert to Islam, has been charged with murder for killing a soldier at a recruiting station and “probably had political and religious motives for the attack.”

How about we all not go on a frenzy of blaming the other side? Bill O’Reilly, noxious as he is, did not kill Tillman. And only an infinitesimal number of Muslims think random murder is justified.

Right wing and left wing blogs are going batshit attacking each other about these tragic events. What will that solve? We need to stop the killings. That’s what must come first.

  1. If the typical pattern holds, both men will be found to have been loners, rejected in some way by society, with the people who knew them saying “I had no idea…” What an argument for inclusivity!

Of course, we’d rather blame blacks, religious fanatics, guns, liberal permissiveness, our rotten educational system, and Satan. And no doubt all of the above will get blamed.

  2. Hi there! Found your blog by accident while surfing the web, but I took a look around and this post caught my eye.

I agree with your post. While politics should be about finding solutions to problems and making the average person’s quality of life better, and I’m sure that’s what the founding fathers intended, it has degenerated into a war as vicious as anything in the Middle East today. Instead of reading about a killing and thinking “How terrible!”, a lot of pundits think “How can I use this against liberals/conservatives?”. This doesn’t help anybody, and ends up driving people to hate crimes like the ones listed above.

Anyway, just my two cents on the issue. Have a nice day!
