Prabhakaran and several other Tamil Tiger leaders have committed suicide. The remaining cadres are seeking to surrender. Announcement due at 10am local time, about 9:30pm pacific today.
LTTE is seeking cease fire. Independent committee sought to oversee surrender process, but rejected by Sri lanka military. Seeking medical support for wounded cadres & civilians; also rejected.
President has arrived at airport, returning from Jordan, to great celebration. Now heading for Colombo.

There is news that the Tiger leader’s charred, burnt body was discovered. Awaiting DNA testing with a sample in India.
