“Recession Rollback” Sign of the Times

recession rollback sign at Salvation Army

Bizarrely, this Salvation Army store in South San Francisco sometimes has prices higher for used items than we’ve seen for the items new elsewhere, and their supposed lower prices seemed non-existent, except for purple tag items excepting those with red tags with no senior discount allowed. Right.

But still, when a Sally proclaims a price cut, you know the economy is getting whacked.

  1. Seen on this trip through the Sally: ratty sweaters $6.99. Baggy old pants $7.99. Shrunken t-shirts $4.99. Kitchen debris you could get an the dollar store for a dollar — 4x more and higher. Go to dollar store, yard sales, & Macy’s. You’ll do better.
