BldgBlog says this marks a symbolic end to the grandiose mega-construction we’ve seen worldwide – buildings that were meant for use only by the rich and connected.

What we need is a worldwide boom in construction of green, affordable housing. Let’s forget these pleasure domes for the wealthy and build stuff that everyone needs instead.
