Yes, Obama tacked too hard to the Right recently, and may have lost support and cred in doing so. Then again, who else will they vote for? It’s the usual cynical calculation, play to the faithful on the edges during the primary, then move to the center in the general election. (Hillary would have done precisely the same. McCain is doing the same.)
So now presumably Obama will be getting negative on McCain, as will McCain on him, and the final months of the campaign will be one enormous mud-sling.

What was HuffPo thinking, printing a hit piece on Obama by a Republican insider working for the McCain campaign? It was skillfully done though, playing up the weepy liberal angle, oh how Obama has disappointed us. Maybe that’s why they printed it, liberals sometimes do love to weep and be filled with angst, don’t they?
Obama is, and always has been, a centrist politician. The presidential campaign is now entering the guns and thunder phase. Again, this is entirely predictable.

As everyone knows, I’m no fan of Obama, but strictly on the basis of politics. This statement is totally unfair and sounds like the nonsense that I hear on the corporate media. Obama has not been slinging mud, unlike McCain, and I see little or no likelihood he’ll be doing so. He has been criticizing McCain’s positions, which is not, as the corporate media like to portray it when they’re playing the “they both do it” game, “going negative.”
Constantly choosing the lessor of two evils is still choosing evil.
BTW, McCain did the opposite of the norm: he sang to the center during the primary, and is now busily moving as far to the Right as possible.

Are you saying that the voters choice for president of America has to be between the lesser of two insanities????? Some choice, and quite scarry as America is the largest arsenal in the world. Rather than back one over the other, why not tell it like it is, at presnet you seem to be pushing and voting for insanity!! But a lesser insanity, so that makes it all right!!

I am 74 years old and have never voted in my entire life, During all my adult life I have been politically active and still am, but have always considered the party political system to the home of crooks and liars, hypocrites and parasites, and in the pay of the corporate world, to support any of them would give them the stamp of legitimacy and would make me guilty by association. Therefore I never evaluate on one as being in any way shape or form superior to the other, this is an encouragement to others to vote in that direction. Believing that voting for one or the other will make a difference is no more than an illusion and I believe that historic evidence supports this view.
