1. our enemies have been england, france, germany, china, and mexico. though they are all our allies today. just because we objected to communism during the cold war doesnt mean that the USSR was the best allie to have during world war 2. the enemy of my enemy is my friend, though after the war is over. the soviets had the largest military in the world, but we had the bomb. so it was either arms race, or quickly the russians would start another world war by taking what countries they wanted. in 1920 russia was the only communist country in the world. by the 1960 one out of every 3 people lived in either a communist country, or a country at war because of soviet influences. changing alliances are subject to changing attitudes of countries foreighn policy.
