    In the interest of linguistic accuracy, I have to oppose the use of the word “tirade” which seems to be a common word of choice to describe Gibson’s outburst. Gibson said a number of things, but as far as I can tell, his entire statement about Jews consisted of saying “F**king Jews. The Jews are responsible for all the wars in the world.” This qualifies, in addition to being a racist, anti-Semitic, and inaccurate statement, as an “outburst” or other words synonomous with that, but definitely not as a “tirade”:

    1. a prolonged outburst of bitter, outspoken denunciation
    2. a long, vehement speech
