Ishaqi massacre: more slaughter

New ‘Iraq massacre’ tape emerges

The BBC has uncovered new video evidence that US forces may have been responsible for the deliberate killing of 11 innocent Iraqi civilians.

The video appears to challenge the US military’s account of events that took place in the town of Ishaqi in March.

According to the Americans, the building collapsed under heavy fire killing four people – a suspect, two women and a child.

But a report filed by Iraqi police accused US troops of rounding up and deliberately shooting 11 people in the house, including five children and four women, before blowing up the building.

The video tape obtained by the BBC shows a number of dead adults and children at the site with what our world affairs editor John Simpson says were clearly gunshot wounds.

  1. How many more atrocities and massacres do you think are out there lurking in the shadows waiting for the light of discovery, Afghanistan, Iraq and where ever else our imperialist forces have landed, indiscriminate slaughter is part and parcel of the scene. Sadly it is always kids from working class families in our own country that are sent out to kill working class families of other countries but never is there any gain for the ordinary people of either country only the corporate greed machine. It thrives on the blood of the people. The festering marriage of state and the corporate world has to be dismantled and replaced by a society that sees to the needs of all our peoples not the needs of shareholders and power hungry authoritarians. We must build our society on a community basis in federation with other communities and where all those in those communities help to shape them. Commumities based on free association, volutary co-operation and mutual aid grounded in sustainability. This era of state/corporate/fascism must be destroyed and seen as man’s darkest hour.
