If you’re in San Francisco for the first time walking and driving around as I was this past weekend, be aware street-numbering system is a bit haphazard.
For example, the ANSWER SF office is at 2489 Mission – which is between 20th and 21st. “That’s because there’s 4 streets before 1st street.” Oh.
However, a friend’s apartment a few blocks away is between 22nd and 23rd, yet the house number is 832.
Ah well, at least it’s more logical than Dublin where I’ve heard the street numbering follows no discernable pattern, with Toyko being somewhat the same. And S.F. is a great city, lots of people on the streets, while L.A. has no such street culture. “Nobody walks in L.A.” is a truism.
