B.C. told to brace for global warming

Then there’s the most obvious evidence of global warming in B.C.; a catastrophe visible from space, or by a drive along virtually any highway through the Interior.

The epidemic of mountain pine beetles – which can only be stopped by
early and prolonged cold weather -is forecast to kill 80 per cent of
B.C.’s lodgepole pine stands by 2013, said Jenny Fraser, a climate
change analyst with B.C.’s environment ministry. And she noted the
impacts evident already may be just a taste of what is to come.
