With the noxious trend towards having to constantly prove who you are, and with the probable coming Real ID law mandating much stricter drivers license renewals, you might want to update your ID now.
If you don’t have a physical copy of your Social Security Card, get one. You must either mail the original documentation (no copies) to them or go to an office with the ID. Then you can get a duplicate card.
Get a passport. Even if you never go out of the country. More than anything, I think, a passport proves who you are.
Within a few years you may need both a passport and a Social Security card to get your drivers license renewed. Seriously.
