The US-led “war on terror” is behind a surge of human rights abuses around the world, according to a report by Amnesty International.
The organisation said America’s offensive against global terrorism was “bankrupt of vision” and had “made the world a more dangerous place”.
And the Democrats are calling in the big guns

Kerry is playing a waiting game, not getting ahead of the story, testing the waters with people like Gore attacking Rumsfeld, and seeing what the response is. He doesn’t have to get ahead of the story, he can let the story wreak destruction on Bush, then move in for the kill when it’s obvious he has widespread support. Not the noblest of games, but certainly a good strategy.
