Do not install Office XP Service Pack 3
This from Windows expert Brian Livingston, who details horror stories from readers who installed it and discovered applications were broken.
“Recently, Office SP3 was installed on my system with Office XP. Now Outlook gives me a security warning every time I create, reply to, or forward an e-mail message. Generally I get this warning two times before Outlook lets me continue with the message.”
Are we having fun yet? Oh yes, it breaks many third party programs too.
There is a comical aspect though – SP3 was so badly implemented that it won’t install itself on systems with SP1 or SP2, even though it should.
