Group linked to al-Qaida claims Spain bombings

The Abu Hafs al-Masri Brigades claimed repsonsibility for the bombings and said an attack on the US was “imminent”, somethig not to be taken lightly, as Google and Yahoo show they’ve done plenty of bombings before.

A series of bombs hidden in backpacks exploded in quick succession Thursday, blowing apart four commuter trains and killing at least 192 people and wounding more than 1,400. Spain at first blamed Basque separatists but a shadowy group claimed responsibility in the name of al-Qaida for the worst terrorist attack in Spanish history.

They say a US attack is coming

The statement also claimed responsibility for the suicide attack on a Masonic lodge in Istanbul two days earlier and said a big attack on the United States was “imminent”.

“We bring the good news to Muslims of the world that the expected ‘Winds of Black Death’ strike against America is now in its final stages…90% ready and God willing near,” it said.
