The Basra “uprising”
British military has reported a “mass uprising” in Basra of residents against Saddam. It is important to note that 1) the uprising has not been confirmed by any other source and 2) the report came at the end of a bad day for the Brits and just in time for the evening news.
Now comes this unsurprisng “news”; No sign of Basra uprising this morning, – if, in fact, it ever actually existed at all.
