It occurs to me the Bee Gees were a class act. Their songs were well-crafted, totally professional, and innovative. I mean, no one else sang like them, did they? Also even after decades in the public eye, you never heard of them getting arrested or involved in anything tacky. They did their music and lived peacefully.
Now, with the death of Maurice, they’ve retired the Bee Gees name. No “farewell tours” with a stand-in, no attempt to cash in on his death. Rather, the remaining Gibb brothers said; it was a great run, Maurice is gone, it’s time to retire the name.
And that is a class act.
