Trent topples, Frist first?
“Bowing to pressure from fellow senators and the Bush White House, Trent Lott resigned as Senate Republican leader Friday after colleagues worried about the repercussions of his racially insensitive remarks openly lined up behind Sen. Bill Frist.”
Lott will stay in the Senate though, to prevent the Dems from taking over, unless, of course, public opinion and pressure force him to resign <hint hint>.
As for Frist, the probable successor, he is a hard core right winger, I’ll bet you’re shocked, just shocked to learn this, right?
