Ohio State University plans to break its own EV speed records with the all-new, all-electric Buckeye Bullet 3. Yet the Tango does 0-60 mph in less than 4 seconds and has “FIA-certified roll-cage and reinforced doors,” and is built to NASCAR specs. The battery leases for $62 a month but still, the Twizy could make a fine substitute for golf carts used in retirement communities for transportation. It’s considerably less expensive, and way more styling and modern too. The zero emission all-electric Ford Transit Connect goes 80 miles on a charge, making it ideal for companies with fleet deliveries on established routes. The cost of maintenance is dramatically less, about $250 a year vs. $2,700 for a similar diesel. [...] I have two steering wheels and move on electric rings. Wheee. It’s a mere 3.6 feet wide, seats three, and has tilting wheels. I want one. It has a range of 200 miles and can go over 100 mph. However, this is still an experimental car, the batteries are quite expensive and recharging requires huge amounts of power. Let’s hope that changes as their research continues. This zero emission electric vehicle from Nissan uses inductive charging and doesn’t need wires or a plug. The ZEV can now charge in a special parking spot without needing any wires. Inductive charging is still less efficient than wired charging, but for easy, on-the-go recharging, inductive charging offers a lot of potential. It’ll sell for $22,000 and is a great car, he says. And it’s an electric vehicle. The E6, which [...] The Exhibit is in the National Waterfront Museum in Swansea, Wales The Sinclair C5 was an early attempt at an EV. This 1980 attempt flopped commercially but still, it was visionary (if too small for city driving.) | |||||
