The Drive-By Truckers are as Southern as it gets. Their new album talks bluntly about the Civil War, gun violence, and black people getting shot by cops.
Lead singer Patterson Hood says about the Confederate Flag, “”Why fly a flag that stands for the very things we as Southerners have worked so hard to move beyond?”
Not only is this protest music at its best, it’s great music too.
