What if U.S. and Russia both start running on empty?

Running-on-Empty

Apocalyptic speculation to start the new year! U.S. / British adventurism continues faltering across the globe, forcing numerous ignominious retreats. Simultaneously, Russia’s economy spirals downward. What then? China is having major financial problems they soon won’t be able to conceal and will hardly be able to take over. We will then have a huge void in international politics. What then?

Falling oil prices, partly caused by lessening demand and helped along by the U.S. and Saudi Arabia, are seriously hurting Russia. Dropping prices mean less revenue, made worse by the rapid decline of the ruble. Gangster elites are already turning on each other and fleeing the country.

The ruble’s collapse creates an enormous headache for Russian banks, whose revenues are mainly in rubles but debt is in foreign currency. Western sanctions compound the problem, as some banks are shut out of the international markets. The fall in the price of oil is hitting energy companies as well and it will make it more difficult for them to remain profitable while paying down debt. The Russian state will probably have to help some of these giants. But it, too, isn’t looking all that good. The government needs a $100 a barrel to break even (that is, to have no budget deficit).

The Anglo-imperialist franchise, as Dmitry Orlov calls it,is failing rapidly across the planet. When imperialists leave a country after failing to dominate it, they poison the well before leaving. Worse, he says, they will be bringing their mad schemes back to the U.S. soon enough. Orlov lived in USSR when it collapsed. He sees strong parallels between that fall and the current situation in the US.

Much more specifically, their playbook always called for a certain strategem to be executed whenever their plans to dominate and exploit any given country finally fail. On their way out, they do what they can to compromise and weaken the entity they leave behind, by inflicting a permanently oozing and festering political wound. “Poison all the wells” is the last thing on their pre-departure checklist.

Not to make a prediction as to timing but 2015 could be the year the Anglo-imperialist franchise finally starts shutting down in obvious ways. We know it will have to shut down eventually, because failing all the time is not conducive to its survival. The bonus question is, what sort of anti-America will these parasites set up inside America before they abandon their host and scatter to their fortified compounds in undisclosed locations around the world? Or will they not even bother, and just provoke a war of all against all?

Yes, this is speculation. However it’s all a bit too uncomfortably plausible. Cyberpunk dystopian near futures are fun to read about, but probably not so much to live in. Our supposed leaders and elites are clearly not interested in society or anything but themselves. That’s why it’s up to the rest of us to change things. And there are many more or us than them.
